Community Guidelines & Safety
Last updated: November 6, 2026 · These guidelines are part of our Terms of Service.
Prosh is built on one idea: real people, in the city they actually live in, talking and making plans. These rules keep that true. They apply to everything on Prosh — profiles, posts, comments, hangouts, communities and messages.
The spirit
- Be local and be honest. You’re here as yourself, from your city. No fake identities, no location tricks.
- Be decent. Disagree all you like; don’t be cruel. The people here are your actual neighbours.
- Make plans, not noise. Prosh is for conversation and meeting — not for broadcasting ads at your city.
Not allowed
- Harassment and hate: bullying, targeted abuse, threats, stalking, or content that demeans people based on who they are.
- Sexual content: pornographic or sexually explicit material, sexual solicitation, and — absolutely, without exception — any sexual content involving minors. The last of these is reported to law enforcement and the relevant child-safety authorities.
- Violence and danger: graphic violence, encouragement of self-harm, or organising harmful activity.
- Illegal activity: selling drugs, weapons or contraband; fraud, scams and phishing; impersonation of people, businesses or officials.
- Privacy violations: posting anyone’s phone number, address, documents, or real-time location without consent.
- Spam and manipulation: repetitive promotional posts, unsolicited commercial messaging, engagement bait, bots and fake accounts.
- Rights violations: content you don’t have the rights to post.
Zero tolerance. As stated in our Terms, there is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on Prosh. Serious or repeated violations end accounts — immediately and permanently.
How enforcement works
- Report: tap the ••• menu on any post, comment, profile, hangout or message thread, or long-press where available. Reports are anonymous to the person reported.
- Block: blocking removes someone from your Prosh life — they can’t see your profile or content or contact you.
- Review: we review reports and aim to act on objectionable content within 24 hours, faster for safety-critical reports.
- Consequences scale with severity: content removal → a warning → feature limits → suspension → permanent ban. We may skip steps for serious violations, and banned users may not return under new accounts.
- Appeals: if you believe we made a mistake, email support@prosh.social with your account details and what happened. We re-check genuinely contestable decisions.
Meeting in person — stay safe
- Meet in public, busy places, especially the first time. Avoid sharing your home address.
- Tell a friend where you’re going and when you expect to be back; keep your phone charged and your own transport arranged.
- Trust your instincts — leave any situation that feels wrong, no explanation owed.
- Never send money, gift cards or financial details to someone you met on Prosh, however convincing the story. Romance, investment and “urgent help” scams all start this way.
- Prosh never asks for payments, codes or passwords by message. Anyone who does is not us.
- If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first, then report in the app.
Hangout organisers
- Describe the plan honestly — place, time, what to expect, any costs — and keep the listing updated.
- Run it safely and lawfully, and be present or clearly hand over hosting.
- Organisers who repeatedly no-show, mislead attendees or use hangouts to sell or solicit will lose hosting privileges.
Communities
- Admins set the tone: moderate consistently with these guidelines, and keep the community about what its name says.
- City communities stay city-scoped: they are for members verified in that city.
